How to be More Confident – The Formula to Nurturing Self Confidence
Hey there…yes, you! Listen…YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN YOU THINK! And before you jump into the rest of the article, take some time to reflect on that statement – it holds the power to help you evolve into your best self.
We all have aspirations in life—be it career-wise or personal. But are you taking the necessary steps to achieve these goals? Are you waking up every day and working to create the life you feel and know you deserve? Are you ready to face and conquer your fears like the queen you are?
The truth of the matter is that most of us are stuck in a treacherous loop of self-doubt. A loop that gradually chokes on your dreams— dimming the passion for life that once burned bright in your heart; making you feel like you’re not worth it. If this sounds like you (i.e., you feel trapped) and you want a way out, I’m here to tell you that it’s not too late. There’s hope! There’s always hope!
“It is confidence in our bodies, minds, and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures.”
— Oprah Winfrey
Here’s my blueprint to standing up for your dreams and nurturing your self-confidence – i.e., how to be more confident.
How to be More Confident – Breaking the Chains of Self Doubt
Conquering your confidence is not a one-time affair. It’s a journey that demands your effort. I define this process as the 4 Es (Evaluate, Evolve, Empower, Embrace) or living your D.R.E.A.M.S (Define desires, Resolve, Evolve into the process, Act, Mindset shift, Step into who you are). But what do these mnemonic try to explain?
In the words of Lucille Ball, “Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” I hate to break it to you but confidence does not come magically. There’s nothing that a fairy godmother, a great job, or even my expert consulting can do to rekindle your self-confidence if you’re not prepared for the change.
It has to start internally – i.e., change your mindset. You need to focus on yourself, make peace with your shortcomings, realize that you can control your mindset, and create a purpose from your passions.
The next step is to align your truths with your values. What does your heart desire? What are your values? To be confident is to be the best version of yourself. And for this to happen, you need to dig deep to find the inner grit needed to overcome your fears and embrace the new unstoppable queen you’re becoming. Dare to act! Dare to be better—and embrace your new reality!
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes by Marianne Williamson: “We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be?”
